A Man Who Hates Himself

Updated: Oct 16

Actor Jussie Smollett

When an allegedly racist society lacks properly trained, radical white supremacists, one must - in a moment of desperation - fund their own assault and battery. The “attack” on Jussie Smollett was the crime of the century...that never happened.

Mainstream media, internet influencers, and dense politicians were in an uproar over one silly man. I'm surprised at how many people were duped into believing something like this occurred in 21st century America. Smollett is deeply flawed and disturbed and completely disconnected from reality. He lacks any ability to foresee the consequences of his actions. In short, he's a psychopath.

In case you're out of the loop, ABC News published an events timeline showing the plot against Smollett. In January 2019, the actor received a threatening note on the set of Empire. Chicago police later suspected Smollett was the perpetrator. A week after the incident, Smollett was walking to get a Subway sandwich in the middle of the night when two men followed him, shouting racial and homophobic slurs. Apparently, the men were also avid Trump supporters who yelled, "This is MAGA country," during the assault. It wasn't long before everyone devoid of common sense started referring to the incident as a "hate crime."

An interesting fact to note is that Smollett never dialed 9-1-1. His creative director contacted the police department; Smollett said "pride" wouldn't allow him to call for help. I find it funny (not really) when Chicago PD showed up, Smollett still had a "noose" around his neck. He said he left it there as evidence for them to see. The rope was removed only after an officer - who seemed more uncomfortable than the "victim" - asked Smollett if he wanted to take it off. You can see from the body cam footage, he's not upset or phased by the incident.

The most hilarious turn of events was the two men who allegedly attacked Smollett. The Nigerian siblings (evidently, Smollett couldn't convince any white people to play along) were also actors in the Empire series. They were initially arrested and interrogated, but never charged. The brothers later filed a defamation suit against Smollett and produced a $3500 check with his signature - Smollett claimed the payment was for "personal training." The Chicago Police Superintendent concluded Smollett "staged the attack because he was unhappy with his salary on the show and wanted publicity."

Wow. Just think. A grown man, desperately starving for attention, produces and stars in his own Lifetime movie! And then kept the lie going for years - that's crazy! If he wanted publicity, why not hire a publicist? If he needed more money, why not negotiate a new contract? Only a maniacal character would bypass common sense and go to this extreme to get their name in lights. I suppose if Smollett wanted to follow in O.J. Simpson's footsteps, he could write a new edition of "If I Did It" - this time, simply title the book, "I Did It."

In an interview with ABC's Robin Roberts, Smollett finally got a chance to show the world his acting skills. With tears, he declared, "I'm pissed off!" When Roberts probed further, he explained: "It's the attacks. It's like, you know at first it was a thing of like, listen, if I tell the truth, then that's it 'cuz it's the truth. Then it became a thing of like, oh, how can you doubt that? Like, how do you not believe that? It's the truth. And then it became a thing of like, oooh, it's not necessarily that you don't believe that this is the truth. You don't even want to see the truth."

Who's truth? Your truth? So, you're always under attack, Jussie. You're a victim. We get it, we just don't care. Only a liar uses the word truth five times in the first 20 seconds of a live interview. It sounds like he wants to convince us all of something that even he doesn't believe is real. And what exactly was his motive for these shenanigans? I mean, was he trying to start a riot? On his part, he obviously failed to prove America is a systemically racist country. Then again, maybe he was being blackmailed? (Pun definitely intended.)

This punk tied up the Chicago PD in a search for an attacker he knew didn't exist. Meanwhile real emergency cases were neglected. And it wasn't enough to have hundreds of thousands of sympathizers falling all over him. It wasn't enough to sit for a prime time interview. No. The final act came during the sentencing hearing. With his fist in the air, Smollett yelled, "I am not suicidal! And I am innocent! I could have said I was guilty a long time ago!" I appreciate the judge pointing out that Smollett "let the dark, narcissistic, selfish, and arrogant side come out."

In the end, Smollett was convicted and sentenced to 30 months of felony probation, with travel privileges. He was fined a total of $145,000, and was ordered to spend the first 150 days of his sentence in Cook County Jail. As of March 2022, he was released on bail pending an appeal. Perhaps Smollett will file a request to reopen the investigation into his attackers. Stay tuned.

This was a ridiculous hoax perpetrated by a ridiculously childish human being. Quite frankly, Smollett is an embarrassment to every community he identifies with. I sincerely believe he has an undiagnosed mental illness and should be on some sort of medication. There's really no other explanation. This so-called "hate crime" proved nothing but the fact that Jussie Smollett is a man who hates himself. Hopefully, we'll never see his face in public again.
