A Christian, Conservative, Black Woman's Perspective

Updated: Mar 19

Supreme Court nominee, Ketanji Brown-Jackson

Biden’s appointment of the first Black woman to the Supreme Court of the United States should leave us stunned and demanding an end to the left’s pretense, pandering and identity politics.

Image is everything

The optics of an old white man singling out a young black woman for an important job should not go unchallenged in 21st century America. This mainstream narrative is deserving of serious scrutiny and discernment.

The White House press release says, “[T]he President sought an individual who is committed to equal justice under the law and who understands the profound impact that the Supreme Court’s decisions have on the lives of the American people. That is why the President nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve as the next Justice on the Supreme court.”

Reuters, a left-leaning publication, said, “Jackson’s nomination fulfills a campaign promise Biden made two years ago to the day to deliver the historic appointment [inside Black History Month].” The article and the White House announcement both reveal Jackson’s qualifications as a federal district judge as well as her family’s past ties to segregation in American school systems.

Jackson’s professional and personal experiences notwithstanding, the appointment to the High Court is still primarily based on gender and skin color. This is textbook discrimination, a reinstatement of the unlawful affirmative action policy and a violation of the 1964 Civil Rights Act. By eliminating Jackson’s male and ethnic competitors, Biden sends a message that Black people are permanently disabled and disadvantaged beyond the capacity to succeed solely on their merits.

Democrats are still trying to "kiss and make up"

Nearly 60 years after President Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Act into law, Democrats are still trying to make up for losses that occurred at the hands of their party. DNC officials and leftist policymakers are keeping a tradition of dedicating their careers to covering up the stains of pro-slavery legislation, the KKK and Jim Crow laws that originated with the Democratic Party.

The ulterior motive of perpetual political posturing is to set a new precedent with the next generation of balloters. As Black people awake to the truth and adopt a conservative view of on political matters, Biden’s move is obviously aimed at succeeding expectations and forever securing the Black for Democrats.

The American church should pray the Black community sees through the lie that the Democratic Party is their only hope. Also, pray Jackson gets a revelation of the principles of God’s word found in our Constitution, that she will defy progressivism and judge with righteous judgment (see Jn 7:24).

Confirmation hearings for Jackson’s nomination are set to begin on March 21.
